Does anyone know of a place in Omaha, Ne. where you can recycle plastic and aluminum cans and get cash for it?
I've never been big into recycling, but I figured everyone else is going green, I might as well try.. In the process of trying, why not try and make some cash off of it? It doesn't have to be in Omaha, anywhere close to it works, too.

About What is the starting pay for a new RN in the Omaha area
What is the starting pay for a new RN in the Omaha area?
I will be graduating shortly with an Associates degree in Nursing and I am curious what the starting pay is in the Omaha area for hospitals? I would work any department, but am mainly interested in ER positions. Thanks in advance for the help!

Two things you need to consider here – emergency room department usually don't hired a new grad. You probably need to work a few years in critical care and sharpen your triage skills. Secondly to find out about how much you would make, you could look under craigslist, or a local newspaper, or hotjobs.com.

Omaha has changed in many ways. The Old Market has been revamped in ridding the area of rundown buildings for lofts and apartments, the city has 2 Arenas (Qwest and Civic) along with a very nice Convention Center. A new ballpark (future home of the Creighton Bluejays and CWS) will be opening in 2011 (RIP Rooseblatt ... nice stadium but no more improvements can be made to it without losing its appeal). The city has grown immensely in size to a modest 600,000 people (+/- a couple of 1000). Not to mention the opening of the West Dodge Expressway a couple of years back (who would have ever thought of Omaha having an elevated Expressway?) Elkhorn has been annexed into the city limits after a nasty court battle (Sorry Elkhorn but it was only time). Watch out Bennington, Valely and Waterloo, your next!! King Louie's Rose Bowl, The Ranch Bowl are gone and now the lots have been replaced by Wal-Mart and Mid-K Beauty Supply. The changes just go on and on as there are so many changes that it is nearly impossible to recall / mention. Born and raised in Omaha, NE (1972) and been here my entire life. Hope Omaha keeps growing and here is to the future of obtaining legalized gambling (Casinos) so we no longer have to pump up Council Bluffs' economy (folks out in western Nebraska and Religious groups can cry all they want until budget cuts affect them: ie: School Consolidations in Western Nebraska and the towns folk didn't like that. Allow gambling and your schools would have been saved). Sorry for that rant but I am all for legalized Gambling in Omaha, not just Keno and Powerball.

I don't think it would be able to generate much of a fan base to support the team! Sorry

There isn't a big enough fan base. Plus, college football would overshadow the team greatly (look at Jacksonville)

Doesn't exist. You want a shop where the manager doesn't overstaff and load the showroom floor with 15 salesmen when he only needs 3. Some General Motors dealerships are wonderful places to work. But they are only selling 10 vehicles a month. Divide that by 20 salespeople. Doesn't work. Get your auto-brokers' license and buy vehicles at auction and sell them. You will need to buy a trailer. It's fun.

i want to model for a modeling agency in omaha nebraska. i got scouted by a representative from agency 89 at a creighton game but when i looked into it i read u had to pay $2000 to work there. do u know any agencies that will hire people without having them pay?

If it is a legit agency you should NEVER have to pay them. They look at you as an investment. If you pay them any money it is a SCAM!!!!

Anyone making you pay is a scam The reality is, if you really want to model you need to be where the jobs are - mainly NY, LA, Miami and to a lesser extent Chicago. If you don't have a lot of magazines, fashion designers, ad agencies, etc in Omaha, there wont' be many modeling jobs Otherwise, if there are local malls or shops that use models in their fashion shows or ads, call them directly and see how they find their models
