Dairy Queen is a great place for a young person to work. The labor is not strenuous and is worth the pay. If there is a location near you I suggest you look into it, they should be hiring soon as spring is approaching. I started there when i was sixteen and am now 18 and soon going to move away to college in a new city. The two years work experience i have will come in handy when applying for a new (possibly better) job. PS usually fast food stores are the only places willing to hire someone under 18

Try restaurants, bowling alleys, coffee shops and any local place you wouldn't mind working at. Just go to two or three places each day for the next week or two and ask for a job application and by the end of those two weeks, you should have a job. Note: Please remember to dress nicely even if you're just going in for an application as many times the manager or owner will be the one handing you the application and you want to make sure you make a good impression.
